OVERCOMING ISSUES WITH LOGO VISIBILITY ON ANY PLATFORM

I HELP BUSINESSES GROW & GET RESULTS BY CREATING LOGOS & BRAND IDENTITIES THAT ARE BACKED BY STRATEGY.

Start a Project

One of the most important aspects of a logo is visibility, memorability and legibility. However, on social media, because of the small display sizes, this is often not the case.

When you scale down the logo to make it compatible for social media platforms or icons, all the hard work, which often goes into designing a logo, can be destroyed.

There is no need to panic though… there are a few methods of making sure your logo is captivating and effective, regardless of which platform you are using it.

A forward-thinking design

One way is to design a logo with this in mind. Decide on the platforms and areas your logo is likely to feature in. By doing this, you can ensure that the logo and text are legible and still meets your objectives.

Choosing aspects to use

If a logo has already been designed and in use, it may be too late to make drastic changes. However, this doesn’t mean you have to compromise on logo visibility or size. You can keep the same design but isolate specific elements to use. You can see this on the image below.

The best example of this would be to take the text part out of the logo and use this on its own. Furthermore, you can use it with brand colours for a profile picture on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. In addition, you can use the full logo design in the header image. Sometimes, simplifying the logo can work and this can even become the preferred version in the long run.

Decide on the most important aspects of your logo and determine the best ways to still portray the same messaging.

Perhaps only certain parts of a logo can be displayed, however more full versions can be shown elsewhere.

Another way this can be done is to show a more simple version of the logo, meaning it can be featured at a suitable size. The rest of the logo does not have to be forgotten, perhaps featuring the messaging or the full design in a pinned post at the top of a social media feed.

Key takeaway

Think about the ways you can make the most from your logo. If you cannot use the full design or it will be too small, think of creative ways. For logo visibility, keep the design on-brand, without having to sacrifice your objectives.

Design a logo with every potential use in mind, from website to social media and even physical advertising boards, keeping high-resolution versions available.

Make sure you can replicate, make amendments to, or take certain aspects out of your logo. Doing this means you can select the best parts to show, displaying chosen to the message in specific areas and making sure you meet your brand objectives.

By being able to adapt your logo, you will reduce any issues faced when new platforms become available or specifications change. These simple steps can guarantee a visible and memorable logo for any brand and will increase the logo visibility on any platform.
